Doyle to Retire from Post as CSAA Executive Vice President

Steve Doyle has led the association and served the alarm industry for more than two decades.

VIENNA, Va. – Steve Doyle, who has served for 22 years as executive vice president of the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), will retire in October.

“Steve Doyle has ably led our association for the past two decades, taking on challenges in partnerships, technology, government relations and industry changes. On behalf of the board of directors of CSAA, I thank Steve for his long service and for the contributions he has made to our industry,” says Jay Hauhn, president of CSAA.

Doyle, a member of SSI’s Hall of Fame, is credited for leading CSAA during a period of considerable growth and change. During his tenure, CSAA has grown nationally and beyond to offer programs in education and online training, Five Diamond certification, as well as developing relationships with law enforcement, fire and emergency communications public sectors.

According to the association, CSAA’s meetings attract industry professionals from around the world, and under Doyle’s leadership what was once the relatively small CSAA Mid-Year Meeting morphed into the Electronic Security Expo.

“Twenty-two years ago, I did not know I would make a career at CSAA. However, as I became involved with the outstanding people who make such a personal commitment to the organization, CSAA became a second family,” Doyle says. “I have had the pleasure of working with some of the most principled people, who give so unstintingly of their time and money to contribute to the industry and help it grow. Through them, CSAA became a purpose and mission in life for me.”

Following his retirement, Doyle will continue assisting the industry in other capacities. He states he is immensely proud of what CSAA’s small staff has been able to accomplish with relatively limited resources.

“Along the way,” he continues, “I could not have anticipated that the members and staff of other public sector organizations in law enforcement, fire and emergency communications would also become partners and personal friends within what I think is the best public-private partnership in the country.”

A search for potential candidates to fill Doyle’s position is underway.
