Honeywell has acquired Toronto-based Edgelinx Systems, a
provider of visitor management systems (VMS). Terms of the
transaction were not disclosed. VMS technology, widely used
in various public and private facilities, including
schools, research centers, hospitals and government
buildings, replaces traditional manual visitor logs.

“Most facilities have scores of visitors but only the most
rudimentary means of keeping track of them,” Honeywell
Security President Ben Cornett said. “The Edgelinx products
address a widespread and serious issue in facility
security, and will be a strong complement to Honeywell’s
existing portfolio of access control solutions.”

Edgelinx’s leading product, LobbyWorks, is an enterprise-
level visitor management solution that leverages
infrastructure to better track visitor traffic and increase
visitor security policies compliance.
