Yale Redesigns Z-Wave Key Free Deadbolts

The new Yale Real Living Key Free Push Button B1L and Key Free Touchscreen T1L deadbolt locks build upon the company’s previously announced cylinderless deadbolt lock products.

Validating its position as a premier manufacturer of residential security and lock products, the New Haven, Conn.-based company Yale Locks & Hardware has introduced a new generation of Z-Wave Key Free cylinderless deadbolt locks.

The new Yale Real Living Key Free Push Button B1L and Key Free Touchscreen T1L Deadbolts follow the company’s first cylinderless deadbolt products. They feature new industrial designs, along with one-button Z-Wave activation options and designs that better facilitate their installations.

“Since we first introduced our first key free products we’ve seen strong consumer demand for these locks,” notes Jason Williams, general manager, Yale Residential. “Consumers recognize the enhanced security that comes with the absence of a cylinder, and because of that strong acceptance, we’ve expanded our line with these new, sleeker cylinderless models priced to appeal to an even broader market.”

Yale says the new locks’ industrial designs offer a more modern appearance to enable them to complement a wider variety of home styles. The push-button model comes with a black push-button keypad that illuminates when touched and is easy-to-use. The touchscreen model incorporates a durable, black acrylic capacitive touchscreen that illuminates when touched. To help homeowners interact with the touchscreen model, Yale adds, the lock features universal lock and programming symbols that communicate status.

Some of the dealer-friendly features include one-button Z-Wave enrollment for the integration of the locks into home automation and control systems, as well as other features such as fully gasketed installation provisions for increased reliability, ANSI/BHMA-grade 2 certification, warning mechanisms that alert homeowners with the locks’ batteries are running low, and options to create user schedules and customized entry scenes in tandem with the rest of their home control and automation devices such as lighting.

Once installed, homeowners can unlock the products via their smart devices or computers from nearly anywhere without worrying about having to fumble for their keys.
