McLEAN, Va. – The Buncombe County Public Safety Communications Center (BCPSC) just became the 145th Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the U.S. to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Moreover, it is the 13th ECC to do so in the state of North Carolina.
TMA’s ASAP service launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership. It is designed to boost the accuracy and efficiency of calls for service from alarm monitoring centers to ECCs.
On June 21 and 22, Buncombe County went live with the following alarm companies: ADT; Affiliated Monitoring; Alert360; Brinks Home Security; CPI Security; Dynamark Monitoring; Guardian Protection; Johnson Controls (Tyco); National Monitoring Center; Protection One; Quick Response; Rapid Response Monitoring; Securitas; Security Central; United Central Control; Vector Security; and Vivint.
In June, TMA inked a multi-year managed services agreement with Mission Critical Partners (MCP) to power its ASAP Service’s growth. The new partnership with MCP has a goal of expediting the expansion of the ASAP Service and driving the development of a cloud-based solution. The next-generation solution will enable real-time sharing of rich data, including camera video streams, health information, interior blueprints, live location and photos. Indeed, it will dramatically improve situational awareness for emergency responders.
